What is TDEE and BMI and what is the diffence?
TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) is an estimate of how many calories you burn through your bodily functions and physical activity. Running the TDEE calculation will help you figure out how many calories you need daily to accomplish your goals. Your TDEE tells you your calorie intake to gain, maintain or lose weight.
BMR (Basal metabolic rate) is the number of calories your body need to perform life sustaining function such as breathing, blood circulation, cellular growth, body temperature regulation, hormone production, etc.
Many people confuse BMR with TDEE. They think BMR has to do with activity levels, but it is only what your body need to do the bare minimum functions. You use your BMR calculation and your physical activity to calculate your TDEE. TDEE includes both your calories to "keep the lights on" or BMR and your energy expenditure from physical activity.
